It is important to clarify that URKUND is not a teaching method – you can use any teaching method you are comfortable with, and still use URKUND. There is no contradiction here.
Different teaching methods vary in their ability to make plagiarism more or less difficult. Our view at URKUND is that everyone should review their teaching methods, and, if possible, adapt them to make plagiarism more difficult. However, teaching methods should not be changed simply to hinder plagiarism. The educational ideas and values you believe in must be taken into account, while also making sure to implement new teaching methods within the limits of available resources.
URKUND has significant value when it comes to finding an appropriate compromise between the teaching method that is desirable and that which is possible in terms of resources. Using URKUND as a tool means that the full extent of problems related to plagiarism need not be addressed through a change of teaching methods.
