Urkund was established in autumn 2000 by a group of teachers who had experienced the problem of plagiarism among their students.
Today Urkund is used by several hundreds of schools and departments in Europe, and the number of users increases continously.

The 12th of December 2005 PrioInfo acquired the Urkund System.
